WAT SHAT KEOW ORPHANAGE

Wat Shat Keow Orphanage is a home situated in the Anthong district of Thailand. With the history of more than 80 years, Wat Shat Keow Orphanage has since become the sanctuary for orphans who has lived in extreme poverty and most of the time living in the streets. Wat Shat Keow Orphanage currently accommodates 1,584 orphans both male & female between the age of 8 & 13 years.

With such high population within the home, Wat Shat Keow Orphanage strives to provide at least three simple meals which would normally be just plain rice mixed with sauce. Children are taught to take care of themselves during meal time, they would each have their own plate and they are required to clean up after eating. They have been trained to do their duty responsibly. Children from this home are also given the opportunity to receive a formal education from a school nearby.

Despite the limited source of facilities, children from this home still gets to enjoy curriculum activities such as cultural & traditional enrichment sessions and sports training that includes the infamous Thai kickboxing sports.
